About Aloha Healing Massage & Acupunture

Ty Humphries
Owner of Aloha Healing Massage & Accupunture

We provide acupuncture and massage to all who come in for a clean professional service. We are in the holistic healing field, meaning we tell people the importance of having a balanced life style, while providing them with acupuncture and massage.

I got started in this field of natural healing in 1997 when I started learning about TCM at the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii. My mom gave me the ideal of learning acupuncture. So when I first started acupuncture school, we learned how to needle ourselves, also we would practice acupuncture on each other. Then I received a massage, the massage seemed to do way more for me than the acupuncture, so I started massaging all the clients that came in to the schools acupuncture clinic.

My wife and I started this business in 2009. We were working at a spa, then the economy crashed. So we decided to expand our business from just out calls to having a clinic and expand into the local clients.
Healing is truly a life style. The best Healing mode is preventative or pro active. So to begin with a person is made up of three integrated parts, the mind ,the body, and the soul. These three the mind, body, and the soul need to be some what balanced in a life style or over time the weakest link will cause illness. For myself I think stress is the biggest health wrecker, and stress is born in the mind. Stress is something that causes unease or tension. For myself I like to read the Tao Te Ching once in a while, or listen to some audio books, this helps me with my stress. For the soul, I pray. Pray to god. For the body, stretch, exercise and eat healthy foods.
Take care of yourself selfishly. Try an take the best supplements, Eat the most healthy foods, Juice and smoothies, get a massage and acupuncture. Exercise daily. Blendtec or Vita Mix. Greenstar Juicer.
I go to seminars on acupuncture usually every year or two, to continue learning. Most of the seminars I go to are in California.
I want to become the best Acupuncturist I can be. I plan on practicing acupuncture for another 15 years.

Massage Therapist

Jennifer comes to Aloha Healing Acupuncture and Massage with a specialty in Traditional Hawaiian Lomilomi. She began massaging at the age of 14, as her hands knew, intuitively, what to do to massage her teammates on the swimming, volleyball, and softball teams. In 1998, when Jennifer was volunteering at Queen Emma’s Summer Palace (sister palace to Kona’s Hulihe’e), one of the docents handed her a scrap of paper with Aunty Margaret Machado’s name and number written on it. On the first day of the month-long class held in South Kona, Aunty Margaret remarked, “Jennifer, there is love in your hands”, and at the end of the class, Jennifer received blessing from Aunty to stay and apprentice with her. For two years, Jennifer and her doberman lived in a tent and trained in Lomilomi. Jennifer has been licensed in Hawaii since 2002.
